There are a number of high-end properties for sale in the Mount Macedon area and if media reports are true, Ed Sheeran may be the town’s newest resident.
But rumours of Sheeran spending millions on a property in the area are new to Mount Macedon real estate agent RT Edgar director Beverley Higgs.
“We’ve heard nothing. The (million-dollar properties) I know of are there are still (for sale). Nothing has been disclosed that is under offer or sold,” she said.
“But that’s not to say he hasn’t bought off-market.”
Ms Higgs said the original rumours of Sheeran investing in the region circulated at the end of last year.
“We heard exactly what was printed. He had looked at property on the Mount late last year,” Ms Higgs said.
“It sort of came and went. It was at the time when he did the concert (at Hanging Rock). But that was about it.”
Sheeran performed a surprise gig on Hanging Rock in February 2017.
Ms Higgs said Mount Macedon was attractive to people because of its privacy and beauty.
“It’s quite a beautiful spot, that is private and has a bit a prestige,” she said. “Mount Macedon, the gardens and Hanging Rock are natural beauties.
“There is also still quick access into Melbourne and Tullamarine airport.”
